A DANCER'S MOVEMENT TO STOP SEXUAL ABUSE
A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
There are more than 1,000 sexual abuse victims every day. Imagine... that’s one new one per minute.
The purpose of A Dancer’s Movement to Stop Sexual Abuse is primarily, but not exclusively, to reach out to dancers around the world, to create a united front for this cause, and to raise awareness for sexual abuse.
We choose dance as our platform because we want to lift the taboo on sexual abuse by providing it with a positive platform to share with others. We also believe in the power of movement in connection to healing from past traumas.
There are three main focus areas for our efforts:
Support and coach victims to overcome the trauma of sexual abuse and help them to lead a thriving life instead of just surviving
Raise awareness in society through speaking events, social media outreach, and building a community of dancers and people who care for this cause, either within or outside the nonprofit.
Educate and empower women, men, especially young adults. A Dancer’s Movement to Stop Sexual Abuse has developed specific workshops and trainings to educate people about this topic.
We firmly believe that through these focus areas, the silence and isolation from sexual abuse can be broken and replaced with awareness and the ability to take empowering action. This will result in a lower number of sexual abuse victims, and better lives for those struggling with past traumas.
PROJECTS THAT MATTER TO STOP SEXUAL ABUSE
ONE LESS STORY TO TELL
To tell that you were sexually abused is not easy, but it will make a difference. Not only for you but also for others who have been abused. You can make a difference by telling YOUR story and giving sexual abuse a face. Tell Your Story so there is One Less Story to Tell! A Dancer's Movement to Stop Sexual Abuse has started the movement 1less2tell to break the silence and lift the taboo on Sexual Abuse.
BROKEN SILENCE
In his book BROKEN SILENCE: Living with Passion and Purpose after Sexual Abuse, A Dancer's Story, Jean Dorff tells his story of sexual abuse. The effects it had on his life and how he now thrives instead of just survives. He hopes to give others the courage to tell their story and to break the silence too. Part of the proceeds of his book will go directly to this Non-Profit Organization.
WOMEN's EMPOWERMENT EVENTS
Healing from sexual abuse and domestic violence can take years. A holistic approach: body, mind, and soul often gives the best result. There is strength in growing and overcoming ordeals together. Our Women's Empowerment Events are focused on creating a life on your terms, despite or perhaps even because of what you have been through.
WOMEN's SELFDEFENSE CLASSES
These classes will increase fortitude both physically and mentally. They provide an understanding and recognition of behavioral signals and patterns in ourselves and others that can prevent unpleasant and harmful situations. They will boost confidence and help turn negative situations into a positive outcome.

WE CAN'T DO IT ALONE! HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Reducing the number of sexual abuse cases can only be done if we have solidarity on this issue.

Abuse will not go away if we don't dedicate attention, time, programs and resources to it. An effective way to support us is to donate money. All donations go fully to the projects of a Dancer's Movement to Stop Sexual Abuse.
ENDORSE
Your opinion is valuable to us and others. Openly stating that you believe sexual abuse has to stop and letting other people know that you are behind A Dancer's Movement to Stop Sexual Abuse will make a difference.
TELL YOUR STORY
To tell that you were sexually abused is not easy, but it will make a difference. Break the silence. Not only for you but also for others who have been abused. Tell Your Story so there is One Less Story to Tell!
GIVE A BOOK
In his book BROKEN SILENCE: Living with Passion and Purpose after Sexual Abuse, A Dancer's Story, Jean Dorff tells his story of sexual abuse. He hopes to give others the courage to tell their story and to break the silence too.
